Lead For Good Africa has successfully concluded its 2025 summer camp, themed Future Ready, which spanned from August 11 to August 29, 2025, at the LFGA Skill Empowerment and Resource Centre, Ojo, Lagos. The camp, organised in partnership with the Marigold Foundation, Nestle Pure Life, PwC, and Oracle Academy, hosted 35 teenagers (ages 10-17) for three weeks of structured learning, creativity, and personal development.
Activities at the camp were designed to balance academic learning, practical skills, and character-building activities, ensuring that participants were equipped with the knowledge and experiences needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Each day introduced new themes and practical sessions, ranging from leadership and values workshops to digital literacy, coding, science experiments, and creative arts.
Highlights of the camp includes:
Hands-on Learning: Participants engaged in projects such as the making of shampoos, conditioners, and liquid soaps, alongside creative arts, beading, and digital skills training.
Leadership and Character Building: Workshops were organised for participants to develop critical thinking skills, high morals and values, teamwork, and responsible digital practices. These strengthened participants’ leadership and personal development skills.
Educational Field Trip: A field trip was organised for participants to Oracle Nigeria; this exposed them to career opportunities in technology and entrepreneurship. During the session, Bekere Amassoma, program manager at Oracle Academy, delivered an inspiring talk on purpose, continuous learning, resilience, and future career paths in areas such as cloud engineering, solutions engineering, and cybersecurity.
Award and Close Out Ceremony: The camp concluded with an award ceremony celebrating the achievements of exceptional young leaders. Three participants were specially recognised for their exceptional performance, and one participant was granted an academic scholarship. This reflects the organisation’s commitment to nurturing excellence.
Lead For Good Africa extends heartfelt appreciation to all partners, sponsors, parents, and facilitators who contributed to the success of the year’s camp. Together, we can equip a new generation of young Africans with the skills, mindset and confidence to be truly future-ready.
